New Frameworks Natural Building (NFNB) is a Vermont-based contracting and consulting business specializing in the integration of natural materials, holistic design principles, an intentional process to create high-performance structures of beauty. Co-owned by Seven Generations member Jacob Deva Racusin, CPHC, NFNB offers services in education, consultation, design, and construction, with special focus on bringing together the worlds of natural building and high-performance green building and design.
NFNB offers educational opportunities through Seven Generations Natural Building, Yestermorrow Design/Build School, Heartwood School, and other venues, that range from two-day workshops to summer-long intensive programs. Consultation services vary by need, such as owner-builder logistical and administrative support and design detailing for professional designers and builders. NFNB has both participated in and led collaborative design teams, working in concert with owners, architects, contractors, and other professionals to create an efficient and effective design/build process. Contracting services include natural wall insulation (straw bale, straw-clay, wood chip-clay), natural earth and lime plasters and paint, earthen floors, green wood framing, and green kitchen and bath renovation - from sub-contracting to full project management for new construction or remodeling and renovation.
